The Story
From September 2026, I plan to travel across Asia to volunteer hands-on with dog shelters and rescues that care for abandoned, abused, and forgotten dogs. I’ve always dreamed of seeing the world, and after learning how under-resourced many shelters across Asia are, I knew I wanted to combine travel with something meaningful.
For the past year, I’ve been dog sitting alongside my day job to save towards this trip, putting £2,000 aside specifically for this mission. Every penny I earn from pet sitting goes into a separate savings pot for my travels. I’m also selling my art and saving consistently from my regular income to make this possible.
I’ve reached out to several shelters in the UK, but many are no longer accepting volunteers. In contrast, shelters across Asia are often overwhelmed, underfunded, and in urgent need of both financial support and hands-on help.
While volunteering, I’ll be helping with daily care such as feeding, cleaning, walking, socialisation, and supporting shelters with fundraising or adoption efforts where possible. Many of these dogs have experienced neglect or injury, yet still show incredible resilience and trust.
The funds raised will go towards:

Contributions toward urgent veterinary care
This fundraiser allows me to dedicate my time fully to helping shelters that rely heavily on volunteers to survive. Every donation, no matter the size, directly supports this mission and helps me be on the ground where help is needed most.
I’ll be sharing the journey openly, the good, the hard, and the real, to raise awareness for street dogs and the incredible work these shelters do every day.
